Library Staff

Gifts and Donations

The Library uses your gifts of money to purchase books, magazine, and other library materials and equipment. Additionally, the library is pleased to accept donations of books and other materials, new or in good condition. Items not added to our collection may be placed in our library book sales. Please contact us for details about what types of materials are useful.

Note:  The Library does not evaluate or appraise gift materials for tax purposes.

Library Policies

Adopted January 14, 2026

Kiowa County Public Library District Staff shall commit to ethical professional practices that include the Principles and Standards outlined below:

Principles: Honesty, fairness, objectivity, and responsibility. Staff shall act in accordance with these principles and shall encourage others within their organization to adhere to them.

Standards: Staff members’ failure to comply with the following standards may result in disciplinary action.

  1. Competence – Staff have a responsibility to:
    1. maintain an appropriate level of professional expertise by continually developing knowledge and skills
    2. perform duties in accordance with professional standards and relevant laws
    3. provide information and recommendations that are accurate, clear, concise, and timely
  2. Confidentiality – Staff will:
    1. maintain privacy of user information/records as per C.R.S. 24-90-119
    2. protect patrons’ right of privacy at all times
  3. Integrity – Staff will
    1. refrain from engaging in any conduct that would prejudice carrying out duties ethically
    2. abstain from engaging in or supporting any activity that might discredit the profession or institution
  4. Credibility – Staff will
    1. communicate information fairly, accurately, and objectively

Resolution of ethical conflict

In identifying unethical behavior, resolving an ethical conflict, or faced with ethical issues the following course of action may be taken.

  1. discussion of matter with superior or, if superior is involved, with a board member
  2. written reprimand
  3. in repeated incidents, dismissal can follow

Copies (Copy Machine & Computer Copies)

  • $.25 per page/per side – black & white
  • $.25 per page/per side – Color – text and/or graphics

Fax

Incoming:

  • $1.00 first page
  • $.10 second page & additional

Outgoing:

  • $1.25 first page
  • $.25 second page & each additional page

Cost for international faxes will be subject to additional fees to be determined at the time of the transmission.

Interlibrary Loan

Pass through charges for material, copies, or postage only

Lamination

  • $.30 per sheet for sizes below 8 ½ x 11
  • $.50 per sheet for sizes 8 ½ x 11 and 8 ½ x 14

Book Sale

The Book Sale is a continuous year round sale. We occasionally have a BOGO (Buy One Get One Free) Sale.
